Record Security

Transcripts and student files are maintained on an in-house computer system that has a secured password accessible only to staff personnel. This system has back-up capabilities. Paper copes of these records are also kept in a vault in the Enrollment/Records Office. The Enrollment Office is secured by a door that is password accessible by staff members. Student grades are maintained in a University wide computer system and a computer system at the Law Center which is also secured by passwords. The Southern University System is currently changing its student record information system from a DOS-based system to an internet based system using Banner software. The law Center will have use of this system which will also have secured password accessibility. Student records are recorded on a magnetic tape that is kept at secured place offsite.
