1970 Southern University accounting graduate, Bertell Dixon joined the Southern University Law Center as its budget officer in 1988. Since that time his duties have increased in scope and his office has expanded in technology and personnel. Today, he serves as director of financial affairs, monitoring the fiscal operations of the Law Center’s more than $6 million general fund annual operation budget with efficiency and accountability. Dixon, who worked in SU Comptroller’s Office from 1971-1988, was hired by his mentor, Tolor White. During his tenure, he rose in the ranks form agency fund accountant and manager of athletic ticket sales to accounts payable supervisor, chief disbursement officer over accounts payable and payroll. Dixon is known for getting things done. His prior working relations with various departments and the Comptroller’s office have been invaluable to the Law Center
