Dorothy Jackson, clinical
professor for the Elder Law Clinic, received her
B.A. from Louisiana Tech University and her J.D.
from SULC. Jackson created the structure for the
Elder Law Clinic during fall 1998 and began
accepting students in the clinic in spring 1999.
Jackson was an Assistant Attorney General with the
Louisiana Department of Justice from 1994 through
1998, where she litigated numerous road hazard cases
on behalf of the state. From 1991 through 1992,
Jackson was in private practice handling a variety
of cases, including successions, divorce, custody,
personal injury, and criminal defense. From 1992 to
1994 she was an associate with the firm Davis &
Singleton in Shreveport, Louisiana, where her civil
practice included insurance and agency defense work,
as well as domestic matters, probate, personal
injury, and general liability. During this time, she
was also a Special Assistant Attorney General
working under contract with the State of Louisiana
on civil rights, workers’ compensation, general
liability, and road hazard cases. |
