Jerome J. Harris, who was named director of the
financial aid office in March of 1999, is no
stranger to higher education financial assistance.
He served as coordinator of grants, contracts, and
special projects for the Law Center, and was also an
assistant law librarian. Harris came to the Law
Center after serving from 1981 to 1997 as special
assistant to the SU System vice president for
finance and business affairs and the comptroller. He
had previous experience in higher education at the
University of the District of Columbia, as interim
assistant to the general counsel, special assistant
to the director of the division of financial
management, and associate director of administrative
services. Harris earned a B.S. in business
administration from Southern University and the J.D.
from Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
