Arthur E. Stallworth was recently appointed vice
chancellor of the Southern University Law Center.
Stallworth is the former director of the Law
Center’s clinical education program. He earned a
B.A. from Vanderbilt University and J.D. from
Southern University Law Center. While serving as
clinical director, he revamped and expanded the
clinical program to establish the
civil/administrative law and criminal defense
clinics in the 19 th Judicial District Court. Prior
to joining the faculty at the Law Center, Stallworth
held the position of division chief of the
Civil Division at the Louisiana Department
of Justice. He
was the first SULC graduate to be appointed to this
position where he was responsible for advising the
attorney general on matters regarding public law,
litigation, and personnel matters. He is a member of
the Louisiana Bar Association, the American Bar
Association, the Louisiana Law Institute, the
National Bar Association, and the Louis A. Martinet
Legal Society.
