Wendy K. Shea joined the
Law Center faculty in 2008 as a Visiting Assistant
Professor of Legal Analysis and Writing. Prior to
joining the faculty, Shea served as a law clerk for
the Appellate Court of Illinois, first in the
research department and later as an elbow clerk for
the Honorable Rodolfo Garcia. Shea also taught
legal writing as an adjunct instructor at Loyola
University Chicago School of Law and DePaul
University College of Law.
Shea received her J.D.
magna cum laude from Valparaiso University School of
Law. At VUSL, she was a Presidential Honors Scholar
and an associate editor for the VUSL Law Review.
She also participated in the school's juvenile legal
aid clinic and received commendation for her pro
bono work with the Midwest Immigrant and Human
Rights Center (now the National Immigrant Justice
Center). The faculty at VULS awarded Shea the
Corpus Juris Secundum award for her overall
contribution to the law school. Shea received her
B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Mary in
North Dakota.
