The 2010 SULC Student Bar Association’s Barrister’s Ball, “Classical Elegance,” was held Friday, March 19, at the Lyceum Ballroom in downtown Baton Rouge.

The featured speaker was Baton Rouge City Court Judge Yvette Alexander of Division D.

The event highlighted the outgoing and incoming Student Bar Association officers and board members. The incoming officers were sworn in by Judge John M. Guidry of the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal.

For the first time, Stephanie Mayfield-Gibson, the daughter of the late SULC law professor William Mayfield, awarded two scholarships the family has established in her father’s name.

The 2010 Timothy Spears Scholarship Award was also announced.

Raushanah S. Hunter, 2009-2010 SBA president, gave her farewell address and the incoming SBA president, Charles E. Toney, Jr., made his inaugural address.
