Federal insured
student loans are available to eligible students in
amounts set by law. Financial aid is available
through the Federal Stafford (subsidized and
unsubsidized) Loan Program. The maximum subsidized
Stafford Loan is $8,500 per academic year. The
balance of aid may be obtained through the
unsubsidized program for a total of $20,500 per
year. The amount is determined according to the
eligibility requirements set by the U.S. Department
of Education. Eligibility for the Work Study Program
is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Southern
University uses electronic fund transfer (EFT) in
the processing of loans through the Louisiana Office
of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA). |
