The Office of Student
Affairs (OSA), under the direction of the associate
vice chancellor for student affairs, assists the
vice chancellor in the administration of the overall
student affairs of the Law Center. In addition to
establishing guidelines, policies, and priorities
common to the student affairs area, OSA, acting as
an ombudsman, provides leadership and coordination
for matters that impact the lives of students while
they are at the Law Center, such as enrollment and
conflicts, student elections, student organizations,
academic issues, health insurance, parking, and
scheduling of building use for related-student
activities.
The associate
vice chancellor, in addition to participating in the
work of the office, handles any student disciplinary
concerns and assists in the development of programs
and services for students.
The SULC Student
Leadership Summit, composed of all of the presidents
of student organizations and the leadership of the
SBA Executive Committee, meets monthly with the
associate vice chancellor for student affairs to
discuss various issues facing student organizations.
This meeting additionally allows for better
coordination of student activities.
