Director of Recruitment

Promoted from coordinator of
recruitment to director of recruitment in 2002,
leads the student recruitment efforts on behalf of
the Law Center. Love has been employed with the
Southern University System for 18 years, joining the
Law Center in 1991. She makes more than 100 visits
to colleges and universities throughout the year.
She also coordinates the Law Center's annual Pre-law
Day, the Law Center Student Recruitment Committee,
and the Joint SU/LSU Law Center Minority High School
Recruitment Day. This position has afforded her an
excellent opportunity assist individuals reach their
career goals. In 1998, Love was recognized by the
New Orleans Council for her outstanding graduate
school recruitment efforts for students at Southern
University at New Orleans. She was given an
outstanding service award in 2000 for outstanding
contributions to Grambling State University's
Student Chapter of the National Association Blacks
in Criminal Justice, also for her recruitment
efforts. Love was recognized in 2004 for her
outstanding support to the Pre-Law students at Paul
Quinn College in Dallas, Texas. Love earned a B.S.
degree in computer science and business education
and a M. Ed from Southern University. This Oakdale,
Louisiana native is a life member of Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority, Inc., Girl Scouts of America and the
Southern University Alumni Federation. Her
professional affiliations include African American,
Louisiana Higher Education, National Black Graduate
School Association and the National Network of Law
School Officers. Love enjoys camping, reading good
books, attending athletic events, walking and
listening to good music. But most of all, she enjoys
people. She believes as Booker T. Washington did,
"that a life of service is a life that counts."
