Cynthia Buggage is presently the Director of Development of the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge . Prior to that Cynthia was the Senior Associate, Government Relations of the Hurricane Recovery Program with American Red Cross. Cynthia returned home in 2005 as one of Congressman Charlie Melancon (LA03) top aides as the Congressional Districts Director of Outreach. She is formerly the District Director and Chief of Staff for U.S House of Representatives Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee who serves the 18th congressional district of Texas. She is a Native of Donaldsonville, Louisiana .
  
Cynthia worked 19 years at the City of Houston as a Supervisor and Grants Administrator. After which she moved on to be an Assistant Athletic Director and Business Manager of Texas Southern University in Houston , Texas . Prior to that she taught at the University of Houston for a year and a half, while attending graduate school at Texas Southern University and working for the City of Houston . She moved to Baltimore , Maryland to assume the role of Regional Director of the Mid Atlantic region of NAACP which includes the areas of Washington DC , Maryland and Virginia where she worked directly for NAACP President and CEO Kweisi Mfume, former Maryland Congressman.
