Director of Information Technology and Support Services

An eighteen year veteran in computer technology, Lata Johnson has been director of the Office of Information Technology at Southern University Law Center since February, 1997. She provides direction and leadership to develop, maintain and expand computer serves within the Law Center and determines the feasibility of computer equipment and applications to address student, staff and administration needs. Since her arrival, she incorporated, network connections for all employees as well as in the labs at the Law Center, a high speed T1 connection, multimedia class room, wireless network, web as well as automation of many day-to-day activities of the Law Center. She formerly worked as the PC and Network support for the Southern University Baton Rouge campus supporting approximately 10,000 students, its staff and administration.

She is a native of India and holds masters in Computer Science and Botany.
