The SULC Support Staff Council, which serves as a
liaison between support staff and the
administration, was created at the suggestion of
Chancellor Freddie Pitcher in 2003. The council
consists of a five-member board that takes
grievances and concerns from support staff and
promotes activities important to this group. Yvonne
Schofield, administrative assistant to the vice
chancellor, was elected founding chairperson of the
group. Other council officers are vice chairperson,
Marie Louis, cataloging librarian, Law Library;
secretary, Carolyn Stephens, legal secretary I, in
the Clinical Education Program; and two members
at-large, Angela Gaines, technical support
specialist, Law Library, and Srinivas Yadavalli,
network analyst, Information Technology and Support
Services. Each will serve a one-year term. The
council’s by-laws and complaint/suggestion forms
were distributed to all support staff, shortly after
board members took office. Chancellor Freddie
Pitcher is shown making the suggestion to the
support staff for the formation of the council.
