Brenton I. Mims and Katrena A. Porter, graduates of the SULC Class of 2015, have joined the Law Firm of Simien and Miniex in Lafayette, Louisiana, as associate attorneys.

Rickey W. Miniex and Clyde R. Simien, both graduates of the SULC Class of 1986, are founding partners of this law firm.

Mims and Porter will concentrate in personal injury matters and outside counsel for various clients, including: Louisiana Department of Revenue, Lafayette City-Parish Consolidated Government, Louisiana Office of Risk Management and Louisiana Public Service Commission.

“It is of the utmost importance to maintain professional relationships with fellow alumni. Southern University Law Center’s tight-knit community lends itself to the pursuit of achieving more than you ever thought was possible,” Porter said.

Mims, also a graduate of Southern University & AM College, is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Porter’s professional memberships include the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Lafayette Bar Association, and the Baton Rouge Bar Association.
