William J. Wilson, ’15, is one of three newest members to the 2016-17 Board of Directors of Council on Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation (CLEAR).
Wilson is a compliance investigator with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Since 2007, he has served in various departments with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, including Investigations, Monitoring/Recovering Nurse Program, and Hearings.
An active member of CLEAR, Wilson serves on the National Certified Investigators/Inspector Training Committee and the Compliance and Discipline Subcommittee.
In addition, Wilson has completed Basic and Specialized National Certified Investigator and Inspector Training, as well as NCIT Certified Monitors and Compliance Officers training. Also, he has been published in the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Journal of Nursing Regulation and the Criminal Law Journal of the State Bar of California.
Wilson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Master of Science in Applied Sociology from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.
“SULC’s Evening Division Program allowed me to continue working at the Louisiana State Board of Nursing while obtaining a law degree,” the Franklinton, Louisiana, native said. “Without the ability to maintain my employment and go to school, I would not have had this opportunity.”
“We are very proud of Mr. Wilson’s accomplishments,” Chancellor John K. Pierre said. “His determination and grit, along with the ability of SULC to provide him with a valuable education opportunity that he might not otherwise have been able to access through traditional methods, are the ingredients that made his success possible,” Pierre said.
CLEAR’s new Board of Directors takes office at the close of CLEAR’s 2016 conference in Portland, Oregon, taking place September 14-17.
