Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in returning to the Board of Student Advisors (BSA), formally known as the Teaching Assistant Program. BSA provides support for first-year doctrinal courses by providing Student Advisors to serve not only as teaching assistants, but also to serve as mentors to all first-year law students. Membership on the Board of Student Advisors will provide selected SULC upperclassmen with exciting opportunities to teach and mentor first-year students and to make a meaningful impact on the academic and social environment of SULC.
The BSA can better serve incoming students if it is fully representative of the student body; therefore, the Board encourages and invites applications from all qualified applicants. The BSA provides equal opportunity in employment for all qualified persons and prohibits discrimination in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ancestry, age, veteran status, disability unrelated to job requirements, genetic information, military service, or other protected status.
The process to apply to return to the BSA involves submission of an application, unofficial transcript from the Office of Records & Registration and a recommendation from a professor, preferably with whom you would like to be assigned. All requested materials should be submitted by the deadlines for online completion via the SULC website and submitted via email to Prof. Kimberly LaMotte at bsa@sulc.edu.
Once the application packet is complete, applicants will be notified of a decision in early August. If an applicant wishes to accept the offer of membership, then the applicant must submit an acceptance to bsa@sulc.edu. Please be aware that BSA membership is a commitment of up to 20 hours per week and adherence to SULC work policy is mandatory.
We appreciate your interest and look forward to considering your application.
