Professor McKay Cunningham

Professor McKay Cunningham was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1974. He earned his undergraduate degree and his juris doctor degree at Baylor University. Professor Cunningham teaches courses in Constitutional Law, Property Law, Tort Law, and Cyber Law. His scholarly research and publications focus on cybersecurity, data privacy, and constitutional law. Before joining academia, Professor Cunningham clerked for Judge Joel F. Dubina on the Eleventh Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. He then practiced law for nine years, including four years at a law firm in Dallas, Texas and four years as a Staff Attorney on the Texas Supreme Court. Professor Cunningham has represented tech industry organizations in litigation and has been certified by IAPP as a data privacy professional. Professor Cunningham has testified before the Idaho Legislature on voting and constitutional law issues and provides commentary for local news and radio media. Professor Cunningham lives in Boise, Idaho, is married to Susanne Cunningham, and has four children, Ray, Calvin, Cleo and Lula.
