SULC and ARDN Partner for Special United Nations Project

The Southern University Law Center (SULC) and African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN) held a virtual signing for a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday, Feb. 25, to further contribute to the development of hybrid and online programs at the intersection of law and esports and gaming.
The MOU is a three-year partnership that will allow SULC and ARDN to develop esports curriculum, explore the development of curriculum and programming related to environmental justice, and collaborate for a special United Nations project, "Pathway to Solutions."
Chancellor John K. Pierre and President & CEO Dr. Djibril Diallo met over Zoom to seal the partnership.
"SULC is proud to partner with ARDN to resolve major issues related to domestic environmental justice and climate change as part of the United Nations 2030 goals and initiatives," said John K. Pierre, chancellor of Southern University Law Center.
The Pathway to Solution's Initiative is an international, multilateral special project for the United Nations, spearheaded by ARDN, to popularize the Sustainable Development Goals, in collaboration with United Nations system entities, the international community, civil society, the private sector, academia, the world of sport and culture, and governments. The ARDN Red Card Campaign, which falls within the framework of Pathway to Solutions, highlights Sustainable Development Goal #5, recognizes that women's rights are human rights, and seeks to mobilize individuals from all sectors of society to commit to putting an end to all forms of gender-based discrimination and violence.
Through this partnership, SULC and ARDN plan develop internship opportunities for SULC students with ARDN's network, create a Motorsports gaming and esports curriculum, and help expand the awareness around the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and to end all forms of discrimination and violence against women and girls.
"We have one common home – one planet earth, and we all have a stake in creating a better world. A world that we can be proud to pass on to future generations. The sustainable development goals are a blueprint for achieving that world." said Dr. Diallo. "It is our honor to call Southern University Law Center a partner as we work towards creating a more peaceful, sustainable, and equitable home for all members of the human family, where no one is left behind."
