Southern University Law Center to Host Expungement Initiative Event in Ascension Parish

Southern University Law Center (SULC), through its Office of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives, will host an upcoming Expungement Initiative Event. The event will take place on Saturday, June 14th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the 23rd JDC Ascension Parish Courthouse, Jury Room, 607 E. Worthey Street, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737.
“We are committed to ensuring that justice and opportunity are accessible for all,” said Dr. Marla Dickerson, vice chancellor of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives at SULC. “This initiative offers a second chance to individuals who have paid their debt to society and are ready to move forward.”
The event is designed to provide residents with access to staff attorneys who will assist in navigating the expungement process. However, individuals must bring the required documentation in order to be seen by legal staff.
Required Documents Include:
- Driver’s License
- Certified Copy of Minutes
- Certified Copy of Bill of Information
- Background Check (must be obtained from the Louisiana State Police Headquarters)
