Nchekube Onyima selected for summer internship in Washington, D.C.

Nchekube Onyima, a second-year student in the Evening Division, has been selected for an internship position with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in Washington, D.C.
The position is offered through the very competitive internship program of The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars and the Department of Treasury.
In addition to the internship experience, this position includes travel assistance to the area, a paid stipend, as well as housing accommodations. The internship period is scheduled to run from early June to early August 2016.
“I have always wanted to work as a federal attorney,” Onyima says.
“While I do not know what area of law I am interested in specifically, I feel like this opportunity with the OCC will allow me to narrow my interests and develop my strengths,” she said.
“I am absolutely blessed to be offered this position, which I believe will be the first step toward a bright and rewarding future for me.”
Onyima is president of the African Law Student Association at SULC.
