Prof. Thurmon publishes chapter in book on trademark infringement

Prof. Mark Thurmon recently completed a chapter for a Bloomberg BNA book titled “Trademark Infringement Remedies” in connection with the American Bar Association’s Section of Intellectual Property Law.
Thurmon’s chapter covers general principles regarding injunctive relief in trademark cases. He has frequently written and spoken on trademark remedies. The book is updated this year, but next year a new edition of the book will be released for which Thurmon is working on a complete chapter rewrite. He noted that he is also turning some of the concepts discussed in the chapter into a separate law review article.
Thurmon is a professor of law at the Southern University Law Center, where he teaches courses in business, federal courts and procedure, and intellectual property. He has published a number of articles on intellectual property law issues and is a frequent speaker at CLE programs.
An active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Thurmon has served as a committee chair and on the editorial board of the AIPLA Quarterly Journal.
Professor Thurmon testified before Congress in 2000 on international intellectual property issues. He has taught IP law in Warsaw, Poland, and he helped develop and teach an IP course in Indonesia. His scholarship can be viewed by clicking here.
