Ribbon cut on newly paved SU campus parking lot held June 9

Officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a newly paved parking lot located behind the Southern University Law Center’s Clinic Annex and A. A. Lenoir Hall on Thursday, June 9.
Southern University and A&M College System President-Chancellor Ray L. Belton and Chancellor John K. Pierre expressed their enthusiasm regarding the completion of the project that will improve the aesthetics and ease of maintenance on the campus.
The 100-space lot includes reserved spaces for faculty/administrators and visitors to the Clinic Annex and other University and Law Center activities. The parking lot will be open to students after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends.
“The improvement of the parking facilities near the Law Center will only enhance the educational experience of the Law Center students and all students who matriculate at the Baton Rouge landmass,” Chancellor Pierre said.
Cost for improvements are estimated to be approximately $146,000. Contractor: Honore Companies, LLC
