Afi Patterson

Afi is a Louisiana native and a graduate of Louisiana State University. She received her J.D. from Southern University Law Center and her LL.M in Trial Advocacy from Temple University, Beasley School of Law. She is licensed in California and Louisiana and resides in Los Angeles.
Throughout her practice, she has gained extensive experience in criminal defense and entertainment law. Currently, she serves as the production attorney for the Emmy Award-winning series Divorce Court and provides legal counsel to Dish Nation. Additionally, Afi owns a boutique law firm that provides transactional services for creatives in the film, television, social media, and music industry.
Interested in fusing her criminal law and entertainment experience, she began documenting the Tory Lanez and Megan The Stallion trial in late 2022. Throughout the trial, she regularly appeared on independent platforms to discuss the facts, analyze the evidence, and predict outcomes. Now, she regularly appears on the Law & Crime Network as a legal analyst covering high-profile trials, including the XXX Tentacion case and the YNW Melly trial. She keeps viewers informed, explaining the plain letter of the law and providing elevated legal analysis to everyday cases across multiple platforms under the moniker The Black Letter Law.
In addition to her law practice, she owns blue door organics, a skincare brand that produces premium organic products and services a growing wellness community.
