Ananya Roy, Sc.D.

Ananya Roy, Sc.D. is Senior Health Scientist and a trained epidemiologist in the Healthy Communities program. As a part of the EDF's Global Clean Air initiative her work is focused on making visible air pollution’s health impacts and disparities to inform air pollution decision making and mitigation. She is health co- lead of the Clean Air Catalyst, a global partnership for accelerating clean air solutions in Indore, Jakarta and Nairobi.
She has played lead roles in characterizing the distribution of air pollution health impacts from U.S. oil and gas operations, the environmental justice implications of stronger fine particle pollution standards, and child health and equity implications of transportation policies. Her work has informed EDF’s legal and regulatory efforts to strengthen methane rules, the national ambient air quality standards and vehicle emission standards. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the All Institute of Medical Sciences, India and a doctorate in Environmental Health from the Harvard Chan School of Public Health, Boston. She is based out of EDF’s office in Washington DC.
