Blake Allen

Blake Allen is a staff attorney at SLLS, having recently joined in August 2020. Blake is currently with SLLS as part of a one-year grant from the Initiative for Public Interest Law at Yale, Inc. His project helps formerly incarcerated clients address the civil legal barriers to their successful re-entry from prison, particularly the many collateral consequences to incarceration in Louisiana.
Blake has spent nearly all of his short legal career in criminal justice reform and otherwise assisting clients harmed by the criminal legal system. Before joining SLLS, he was a law clerk for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the MacArthur Justice Center, the D.C. Criminal Code Reform Commission, and the Orleans Public Defenders.
Blake graduated from LSU in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and History. He received his J.D. in 2020 from the Georgetown University Law Center.
