Deia Davis

Who knew this child who was the first born of Dr’s Melvin & Sheila Davis, would finally decided that the time had come to fulfill a promise to herself that she had made at the age of 15 to become the first attorney in my family. I grew up in a home where education was the key to being successful and having a loving spouse with lots of kids. Though my mother only birth two kids (my sister and I) our home was a revolving door for family and students who needed a helping hand. My sister and I grew up with an extended number of Big Brothers and Big Sisters and an Uncle who would be adopted by my parents and would eventually become my older brother.I decided this was my destiny too so I got married really young and had my children pretty quickly and took care of family, friends, raised my best friends kids as if they were my own when their mom passed , and adopted numerous students throughout the years while they were marticulating through undergraduate and graduate school. One day while taking care of my sister who was suffering from stage 4 breast cancer she asked me about my future goals that didn’t surround my family, and I realized they were quite miniscule. Though I owned and ran a successful Public Relations firm that focused on entertainment and sports clientele called ExquisteM I was not fulfilled because I always felt that something was missing. I finally made up my mind to figure out why I was not fulfilled. This action led me to starting the process of finally fulfilling a promise I made to myself at 15 years old to becoming my family’s first attorney. After working in the entertainment and sports field for some time my objective as an attorney is to continue in these two fields but be the legal voice for my African American Clients that have been treated unfairly throughout their careers and allowed them to be finally showcased in other positive lights outside of their work on the big screen or on the playing field.
