Holly Peters

Judge Holly Peters is a member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. She graduated from Mississippi State University in December 1994. In July of 1997, she started working as a Legal Secretary for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians-Tribal Attorney General Office. She was promoted to Lay Advocate, the following year, to handle Youth Court Matters. In 2005, she then started managing Prosecution in Tribal Adult Court.
Judge Peters has served, through the years, as a member on various teams such as Multi-Disciplinary Team, Child Protection Team, SART Team, and Healing to Wellness Court...
Currently Judge Peters is the Youth Court Judge for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, handling Juvenile delinquency issues, Child Welfare issues, Guardianships, Termination of Parental Rights, and Adoption. She was appointed to the bench in April 2013. She also presides over and is a member of Teen Court, Model Court, JDAI AND Commission on Children’s Justice.
Judge Peters lives in the Standing Pine community. Although her daughters, Melody, Onna, and Hallie are adults, her family continues to be the center of her life especially her grandchildren, Milayla (Lala), Daxton, and Tru. Her favorite hobbies include beading, and basketry which were taught to her by her mother, grandmothers, and great grandmother.
Judge Peters has, for the last 23 years, worked for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians with the endeavor to help families and youth strive to reconnect and take pride in the Tribe, communities, and family.
