I.J. Clark-Sam
I.J. Clark-Sam is a native of Gretna, Louisiana. She has served as a municipal attorney, judicial law clerk, private practitioner and public interest attorney. She currently serves as the Director of Compliance Programs for the Louisiana Workforce Commission and is the agency’s designated and certified Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator.
I.J. holds a B.A. (History) from Clark Atlanta University, a J. D. from the Southern University Law Center and the LL.M (Environmental Law) from Vermont Law School. With the launch of their boutique law firm, she returned to assisting clients with wills, successions and estate planning while representing disability claimants before the Social Security Administration. She is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of Louisiana and all inferior courts, the United States District Court – Eastern District of Louisiana and the United States Supreme Court.
I.J. has served as an ethics, professionalism, diversity and inclusion presenter and facilitator for over a decade. She has developed and facilitated interactive seminars engaging: the Louisiana State Bar Association, local Bar Associations (including the 4th JDC Bar Association, Baton Rouge Bar Association, St. Landry Parish Bar Association and Inn On The Teche), Southern University Law Center, the Louisiana Department of Justice – Office of the Attorney General and the New Orleans Paralegal Association. She has also presented on the topics of leadership and procurement to the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, the National Procurement Institute, the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, the National Contract Management Association and the Southeast Texas Association of Public Purchasing Professionals.
She is married to her friend, soulmate and pal, Kenneth W. Sam. They are the proud parents of Pharaoh Kennedy Sam (an 8-pound Chihuahua).
