After 15 years working in broadcasting both behind and in front of the camera, JD Carrere brought his talents back to his hometown of New Orleans, LA to bring the world of Esports and Gaming to the city.
JD Founded Storm Surge Gaming in New Orleans, LA with the intention to give young people an opportunity to work in the game industry by giving them real world hands-on experience.
His program operates out of a YMCA in one of the most underserved communities in the city. JD’s goal is to prove that with access and opportunity, the youth of that community will find a restored sense of purpose.
