Jerne’ C. Theriot

Jerne’ C. Theriot graduated from Louisiana State University in 2010 with a B.A. in Sociology and a concentration in Criminology. In 2013, Ms. Theriot earned her J.D. from Southern University Law Center and was admitted to the Louisiana bar that same year. While in law school, Ms. Theriot served as a Student Ambassador on the SULC Student Recruitment Committee, Chair of the SULC Continuing Legal Education Committee, and Vice President and President of SULC’s Gay Alliance for Legal Equality Organization.
Prior to joining the SULC family, Ms. Theriot served as the Staff Attorney to Chief Judge Donald R. Johnson of the 19th Judicial District Court for approximately three years. She also served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Parish of East Baton Rouge for approximately three years. Ms. Theriot is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Baton Rouge chapter of the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society.
Ms. Theriot became an Academic Counselor and Instructor at SULC in 2020. In herposition as Academic Counselor, Ms. Theriot assists students with law school matriculation, including scheduling, writing, and analysis. Ms. Theriot also serves as a Writing Fellow in SULC’s Supplemental Bar Prep Programs where she assists students with preparation for the Louisiana Bar Examination. She also teaches LA Bar Exam PrepI and II, Lawyering Process I and II, and Successions and Donations.
