Journal of Race, Gender & Poverty
MISSION STATEMENT

The Journal strives for membership as diverse as its title, which is derived from an attempt to be as inclusive as possible of ideas in its subject matter while always embracing the background and interests of an ever-diversifying student body. The diversity of the Journal will continue to evolve with the assistance of the annual symposium dedicated to a different and unique perspective of the law and its effects on society. The Journal intends to provoke critical thinking and discussion, enlighten the community, and most of all, serve as a reminder of the world’s persistent injustices while encouraging the community to take a stand against those injustices.
OUR PURPOSE
Our purpose is to supplement the student writing opportunities at Southern University Law Center and provide an outlet for those students seeking to write in an alternative manner to that which is not usually embraced by mainstream society.
