Nepomuk Nothelfer

Nepomuk Nothelfer is a German legal researcher with a focus on (e)sports and compliance. He is co-founder of the world's first Research Center for Esports Law (University of Augsburg) and co-founder of the of biggest global research network regarding esports, the Esports Research Network. He is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Esports (IJESPORTS) and of the German Journal Sports Law and Esports Law in Practice (SpoPrax). He is a lecturer at the Academy of Administration and Economics, at the State University of Applied Sciences Mittweida and at the University of Applied Management (in the first esports management degree course in Europe) as well as guest lecturer at various (inter)national teaching institutions such as the University of Vienna. He also advises various stakeholders from sports, esports and politics in the field of gaming and esports, including the Bavarian State Ministry of Digital Affairs.
He also hosts the German YouTube channel “Rendering Law”, is a mentor of LawWithoutWalls (University of Miami School of Law) and worked as a freelancer for one of the leading global law firms. From 2017 until 2020 he served as member of the Faculty Council at the Faculty of Law, as member of the Academic Council and as institute coordinator for civil law mid-level teaching at the University of Augsburg.
