Serena Martinez Dettman

PRINCIPAL COUNSEL

Serena Martinez Dettman starting working for Pixar Animation Studios in June 2010.  As of June 2017, Serena was promoted to Principal Counsel. 

As Principal Counsel, Serena supports various theatrical and streaming productions, structuring, negotiating, and drafting production-related agreements and managing the film clearance process.  Serena also partners with other Pixar and Disney groups including Marketing, Parks & Resorts, and Consumer Products to provide legal guidance and counsel.

Prior to Pixar, Serena worked as an Associate in the Business Trials practice group for Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton in the firm’s Costa Mesa, CA office. 

Serena grew up in San Francisco, CA and the Boston area, and attended Phillips Exeter Academy.  She received her B.A. in Linguistics at Georgetown University, and her J.D. from Cornell Law School.  Serena currently resides in Walnut Creek, CA.
