Terri Mayes
Terri Mayes is a native of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. She received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Middle Tennessee, graduating in 2011. Terri obtained her J.D. from Southern University School of Law in May 2016. She was licensed to practice law in Louisiana in October 2016.
Terri began her career practicing in criminal defense, family law, and personal injury. In 2019, Terri went on to advocate for the rights of low income and prejudiced residents, which led her to working at the East Baton Rouge Office of Public Defender. While employed at the public defender office, Terri was promoted to section representative. Currently, Terri Mayes is the Director of Innovation and Strategic Partnership and Initiatives for Southern University Law Center, which allows her Terri the opportunity to partner with various corporations and organizations to help develop innovative opportunities for students and alumni.
