Wynnifred Sanders

Wynnifred Sanders is a 3rd year law student at Southern University Law Center from Bossier City, Louisiana. She received her bachelor's in Pollical Science and Journalism from Louisiana Tech University in 2015. Prior to law school, she served paralegal and billing coordinator for the law office of Ron Christopher Stamps, LLC. 

During her tenure at the law school, Ms. Sanders worked at the Governor’s Office of Disability Affairs where she was able to couple her personal experiences of overcoming the adversities associated with having a physical disability with her passion for equality for all.  During her time there, she was able to conduct legislative research and make policy suggestions for how the State of Louisiana should aid people with disabilities during the corona virus pandemic.  

At Southern University Law Center, Ms. Sanders has served as the Student Bar Association's Treasurer by ensuring organizations and students received proper funding for campus events. In addition, she has become the President of the Pro Bono Project, where she is able to couple her love for helping the homeless and elderly with her budding legal knowledge and skills.  Over the course of her law school journey, she’s also had the privilege of serving as the Research Assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Vice Chancellor of Bar Preparation. During the summer of 2020, she was an intern Corporate Counsel Women of Color in New York, where she worked closely with the Founder and CEO to develop contracts and COVID-19 policies and procedures for their annual conferences that are attended by women on a national and international scale.  

Ms. Sanders is currently working as the Founder of the Humble Hands Food Pantry, a non-profit project that she started at the age of 17—to aid the homeless and elderly in Louisiana.  She also owns one-third of rental property business. Her future career goals are to use her law degree to effectively impact the disabled community in the Labor and Employment space. She further hopes to obtain her MBA and LLM in Labor and Employment while working full-time beginning in the Fall of 2021.
