Open Conversation with Chancellor Washington Creates Space for Student Dialogue
The Southern University Law Center launched a new opportunity for students to connect directly with Chancellor Alvin Washington through Open Conversation with Chancellor Washington, a monthly forum designed to encourage conversation, collaboration, and student engagement.
The informal sessions will provide students with an opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, discuss campus initiatives, and engage in conversations about the Law Center's future. The initiative reflects Chancellor Washington's commitment to fostering an environment where every student feels heard, valued, and empowered to contribute to the SULC community. All sessions will take place from 12–1 p.m. in Room 130, and lunch will be provided.
This series is intended to strengthen communication between students and campus leadership while creating a welcoming space for honest discussion and shared solutions. Whether students want to offer feedback, learn more about campus priorities, or simply connect with the Chancellor, each session is designed to promote transparency and build stronger relationships across the Law Center.
The fall 2026 schedule includes:
- August 19
- September 16
- October 21
- November 18
Students are encouraged to attend, bring their perspectives, and take advantage of this opportunity to engage with the chancellor.
