Robert promoted to litigation division deputy director for Louisiana Department of Justice

Deidre Deculus Robert, ’00, has been promoted to deputy director of the Litigation Division of the Louisiana Department of Justice.
Assistant Attorney General Robert, who was formerly special counsel of the Litigation Division, has 15 years of legal experience.
The division defends the state in all tort claims and represents the state in all claims covered under the Self-Insurance Fund as administered by the Office of Risk Management.
Robert began her public service career in 2000 with the East Baton Rouge Parish Attorney’s Office as an assistant city prosecutor. She was the personnel section chief for the office prior to joining the Louisiana Department of Justice in 2011 as the deputy director of the Public Protection Division. In February of 2016, Robert moved to the Litigation Division’s Special Litigation Section, defending the judiciary of the State of Louisiana.
She has presented for the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA), National Association of Attorneys General, Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, and the Louisiana Department of Justice Continuing Legal Education Seminar.
Active in the LSBA, Robert is a member of the Louisiana State Law Institute, LSBA House of Delegates, LSBA Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, LSBA Diversity Committee, and LSBA Task Force on Government and Corporate Counsel. She was recently appointed to the Louisiana Bar Foundation Board of Directors.
