Eligibility, Enrollment, and Registration
Do I have to be a Southern University Law Center student to take an online course?
No, you do not have to be a Southern University Law Center student to take an online course. Students enrolled in this course are doing so as independent student, although the certificates will be issued by the University
How old do I have to be to take an online class?
There is no age requirement. However, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree, as this course is designed to enhance opportunities for early to mid-career professionals.
How do I enroll and register?

Once your application has been approved, and tuition has been received, you will be sent instructions on how to proceed, and access your course materials.
What if I change my mind and want to drop my class?
If the course is dropped within the first week, a 50% refund will be given. After which there will be no refunds, although credit MAY be given at the discretion of the course administrators.
Technical Requirements
What are the technical requirements for an online course?
You must have access to a computer and internet service. Students in Lagos will have access to our tech hub, where they will be able to access these services to take their courses.
What do I do if I need technical assistance?
Course administrators are available during regular business hours to assist with all technical issues.
How do I get access to the class materials?
Once you have been fully registered, you will receive your class materials, which will be sent out on a weekly basis.
Tuition and Payments
How much does this online Data Privacy class cost?
The course ordinarily costs $2500 However, we are offering the program to the initial class of 100 students at $995 (a discount of 60%)
When do I have to pay?
Payment is due as soon as you register.
What are acceptable payment methods?
We accept payment via credit or debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), you may also pay directly into our account. All payments MUST be in US Dollars.
Is financial aid available?
Not currently. However, the course is heavily discounted in an effort to make it affordable for early to mid-career professionals.
Will I get my money back if I drop the class?
There is a refund of 50% if it is requested before the end of the 1st week of classes. Unfortunately, due to the discount price, and the hard work our professors have done to put this course together, no refunds can be offered after this point.

Is this program degree-granting or experiential learning?
It is experiential learning. You will receive a certificate of completion.
What kind of certificate do I get?
You will receive a Certificate of Completion for the course from the Southern University Law Center.
How will I be graded?
You will be graded based on your completion of all the requirements of the course, as stipulated by the Professors.
Academics
What kind of student does well with online learning?
For the course, you must be disciplined, as the course is asynchronous and self-driven. You should also be honest, and be able to complete all coursework yourself, and reach out to your professor as necessary, to ensure you learn all the concepts of Data Privacy.

What methods will be used to teach my online class?
This course is 100% Online, with weekly classes from esteemed SULC Faculty.
What do I do if I have questions about an assignment?
Every Faculty member teaching this course will have Visiting Hours posted weekly. During that time, they will be available to meet virtually or chat with you one-on-one.
How much time will I spend in my virtual classroom? .
It is anticipated that actual classroom time will be around 2 hours a week.
How much time will be involved in homework?
You should budget 4 hours weekly for reading assignments and homework.
How do I get homework assignments, tests, etc.?
You will receive lessons and homework assignments weekly from the Professors.
Will classes meet at a specific time?
Classes will be released at the beginning of every week. The course is asynchronous, so you will have a week to complete it on your own time, before the next week’s materials are released.
May I begin my online class early?
No materials will be released early.
What if I can’t start the class on the date it’s scheduled to begin?
Although this is discouraged to ensure the whole class learns at the same pace, the Professors MAY grant a student a late start, at their discretion.
