Election Protection Training

The Louis A. Berry Institute for Civil Rights & Justice at Southern University Law Center hosted an Election Protection Training program on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 3-5 p.m. in Room 206-N.
The election monitoring work in Louisiana is a collaboration between Legal Defense Fund Prepared to Vote and Power Coalition for Equity and Justice, working in partnership with the national Election Protection network and 866-OUR-VOTE hotlines.
The Election Protection network was founded in 2001 to ensure every eligible voter can cast their ballot and have their vote counted. It has become the largest nonpartisan voter protection program in the country. Legal Defense Fund (LDF), Power Coalition, and other partners have worked to amplify these efforts in Louisiana in the past several years.
Election Protection Volunteers assist voters with voting rights questions, collect the data needed to resolve voter suppression issues in real-time, and reinforce voting rights protections through long-term advocacy. The training is free and open to the public.
