ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct
From Civil Right to Social Justice: How to Apply the Preamble & Scope of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct as a Compass For Social Justice.
Lawyers are public citizens and officers of the legal system, with a special duty to ensure a quality of justice for everyone. To ensure a quality of justice for everyone, lawyers must be zealous advocates for the poor and sometimes that requires lawyers to be reformers of the law, and address deficiencies in the administration of justice. These words are taken from the preamble of ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct. Thus, through use of the ABA preamble this lecture will provide examples of how to be a social justice oriented attorney.
