National Domestic Violence Awareness Month
"It’s an issue that touches, and has the potential to affect, every single person," Angel Charley, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women (CSVANW), said.
October was officially recognized by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence in October 1987, to connect and unite individuals and organizations working on domestic violence issues nationwide.
Communities and advocacy organizations across the country connect with the public and one another throughout the month to raise awareness about the signs of abuse and ways to stop it, and to uplift survivor stories and provide additional resources to leaders and policymakers. https://www.thehotline.org/stakeholders/domestic-violence-awareness-month/
