SULC Hosts Freedom, Justice, and Equality Lecture Series with Congressman Fields as Keynote Speaker

Southern University Law Center (SULC) will host the inaugural lecture of the Freedom, Justice, and Equality Series for the fall semester on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in the Moot Court Room at SULC. This initiative is designed to engage students in critical conversations at the intersection of law, civic engagement, and advocacy.
The program will feature Congressman Cleo Fields delivering the keynote address, with Chancellor Alvin Washington offering opening remarks.
The series serves as a platform for students to connect their legal studies with pressing social issues, preparing them to become change agents in their communities. By engaging directly with policymakers and advocates, students gain the tools and inspiration necessary to shape the future of civil rights and justice.
The Law Center invites students, faculty, and community members to attend this milestone event and take part in advancing the dialogue on democracy, civil rights, and justice.
