Procurement services manager joins SULC Financial Affairs

Michele B. McKee has joined Southern University Law Center as the procurement services manager in Financial Affairs.
McKee has more than 20 years of procurement experience and comes to SULC from the Recreation and Park Commission of East Baton Rouge Parish (BREC), where she was employed as the purchasing manager.
Her purchasing career began in the private sector with International Paper Company, Mobile, Alabama. It was a job that the 1986 graduate of the Southern University and A&M College (SUBR) secured with the assistance of the Southern University Placement Center.
After returning to Baton Rouge in 1988, McKee has been employed as state purchasing officer with the Office of State Purchasing, procurement manager with LSU Health Sciences Center’s Health Care Services Division, and as director of purchasing for the City of Baton Rouge.
In addition to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing she earned from the SUBR, McKee earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix and a Professional Public Buyer Certificate (CPPB) from the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council.
