Prof. Odinet Appointed to National Review Board for Real Estate-Related Legislation
Prof. Chris Odinet was recently appointed as a member of the Joint Editorial Board for Uniform Real Property Acts. The board is a collaborative committee of the Uniform Law Commission, the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Section, and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
The board’s purpose is to monitor and provide commentary to all uniform or model acts that deal with real estate–both at the state and federal levels. Such acts include the Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act, the Uniform Home Foreclosure Procedures Act, and the Uniform Environmental Covenants Act, among others.
Chris Odinet joined the Law Center faculty in 2013 and currently holds the Horatio C. Thompson endowed professorship in law. He is a frequent speaker on issues related to mortgage finance, real estate, and consumer financial protection. He is a 2016-18 Louisiana Bar Foundation Scholar-in-Residence and recently was appointed as an inaugural real property scholar with the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust & Estate Law.
