SULC Tech Students Secure Trademark and Notice of Allowance for local brand
This semester, student attorneys in the Southern University Law Center's (SULC) Technology and Entrepreneurship Clinic successfully obtained a federal trademark registration and Notice of Allowance for Bayou Birdie.
A Louisiana-based golf apparel brand, Bayou Birdie is a thriving small-business rapidly expanding across the state and beyond.
Bayou Birdie’s trademark applications were prosecuted by student attorneys Shane McGriff and Tamira Powe and Spring 2026 graduates Keyra Thompson and Jonathan Holloway.
SULC's Technology and Entrepreneurship Clinic is proud to support emerging businesses like Bayou Birdie and looks forward to helping more businesses protect and take ownership of their intellectual property.
