Prof. Nedzel to be a visiting lecturer in Paris, France, July 2016

Prof. Nadia Nedzel has been invited to serve as a visiting lecturer by the Fondation pour le droit continental ? (the Civil Law Initiative). In this capacity, Nedzel will teach a one-week course in comparative family law to law students from around the world July 2016 in Paris, France.
The Civil Law Initiative, founded in 2006, is a private institution headquartered in Paris, France, with the goal of developing the civil law system–particularly with regard to economy and business relations–and promoting legal balance around the world. Prof. Nedzel will take part in the organization’s “Summer University for Continental Law,” which brings together international legal experts to give seminars and presentations on comparative law to law students and young practicing attorneys from approximately 40 countries. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a Master’s Certificate from the University of Paris (2) — Pantheon Assas.
“This is a real honor. I’ve wanted to have an opportunity to teach at Paris (2) — which is right in the heart of Paris — for most of my professional career,” Prof. Nedzel says. “I thank LSU Prof. Alain Levasseur for recommending me.”
The Kevin S. Reilly Family Endowed Professor of Law at the Southern University Law Center, Nedzel teaches courses in Contracts, Civil Law Obligations, Sale and Lease, International Business Transactions, and International Law. She has written numerous articles on law, economics, and philosophy, and is currently finishing a book on the rule of law.
