Judge Carlos Moore

Judge Carlos Moore is the 79th President of the National Bar Association (NBA). Founded in 1925, the NBA is the premier professional organization for the over 65,000 Black lawyers, judges, law professors and law students of whose interests the NBA represents internationally. A nationally renowned and award winning trial lawyer, Judge Carlos E. Moore, a Moss Point, Mississippi native, is the Managing Partner of The Cochran Firm – Mississippi Delta based in Grenada, Mississippi. In July of 2017, he was appointed as the first African-American Municipal Judge Pro Tem for the City of Clarksdale, Mississippi and in May of 2020 he was named the first African-American Municipal Judge Pro Tem for the City of Grenada, Mississippi. Moore is a graduate of the University of South Alabama, and the Florida State University College of Law, and also completed course work at Rice University in Houston, Texas, as well as the University of Mississippi School of Law in Oxford.
