Office of Violence Against Women
Overview
Collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW)
Under the Office of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives at Southern University Law Center (SULC), our collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice and its Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) works to advance campus safety and well-being through impactful programs and initiatives.
This initiative is dedicated to addressing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking through a comprehensive approach that emphasizes prevention, education, response, and advocacy.
The OVW provides federal leadership to reduce violence against women and strengthen justice and services for all victims. At SULC, this includes—but is not limited to—educational programming on healthy relationships, consent, and fostering a campus culture of respect and accountability.
Together, we are committed to ensuring a safe, supportive, and informed environment for all members of the SULC community.
Mission Statement
United against domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, we provide extensive support services for the SULC Community. Through collaboration, education, and survivor-centered advocacy, we aim to foster a safe and respectful campus environment.
