Alum shows gratitude to SULC with a donation during the Thanksgiving season
During the Thanksgiving season, Harold Jacob Rideau, ’12, stopped by SULC with a donation expressing his gratitude to his law alma mater for giving him the tools he needs to succeed in the business world.
Rideau made a $500 contribution to SULC today through his employer’s College Gift Matching Program, which doubles his contribution.
The native and former resident of Baker, Louisiana, is an attorney in the contracts department at the energy infrastructure company, CB&I, a position he has held in the Houston office since October of 2014. Currently, he is working on a special project in Plaquemine, Louisiana.
“I am rising in CB&I because of what I was taught here at SULC,” he says.
He has decided to give now because it has been a good year for the company and for him. “Although the oil and gas industry is not doing so well these days, we have been successful,” he said.
Rideau knows that Interim Chancellor John Pierre touts that this Law Center creates lawyer-leaders. “Being a lawyer-leader has a lot of importance to it because it says you are doing your best to succeed in the profession and in serving your community, because that is what a leader is supposed to do,” he said.
“By giving back, we can contribute to our community here at SULC.”
Rideau says he hopes his donation will encourage fellow alumni and classmates to give so “we can see the future of this school get better and brighter.”
