Alumnus Gene Gouaux III Appointed to Fulbright Specialist Program Roster

Alumnus Eugene Gouaux III was appointed to the Fulbright Specialist Program Roster in the field of law by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The program pairs highly qualified U.S. academics and professionals with host institutions abroad to share their expertise, strengthen institutional linkages, hone their skills, gain international experience, and learn about other cultures while building capacity at their overseas host institutions.
Gouaux is a native of Thibodaux, Louisiana. He attended University of Southern Mississippi where he received his Bachelors in Accounting. We went on to attend Louisiana State University where he earned his Master’s in the same discipline. After receiving his Juris Doctorate Degree from Southern University Law Center in 2011, he began his career in academia as a business law professor at Nicholls State University. Gouaux is a third generation SULC alum and actively contributes to the family’s private practices in Lockport, Louisiana.
